See Mystery Lights (DFA)

With its accompanying manifesto, informational pamphlet on triangles, and holographic cover,
See Mystery Lightsmight seem more like an invitation to strap on black-and-white Nikes and hitch a ride on Comet Hale-Bopp rather than dance. But fear not! YACHT is not a cult.
The man behind the madness is Jona Bechtolt (best known as the beat conductor for Portland, Oregon’s, the Blow), who now finds himself in the newly crystallized sassy man-woman duo genre. Unlike the Blow’s earnest confessionals, or the revivalist tendencies of its DFA contemporaries, these two kick out frizzy electro jams transcendentally.
All of this newfound karma has paid off, since See Mystery Lights is a huge step forward from its murky solo predecessor, I Believe In You. Your Magic Is Real. Like a rambling friend returned from a psychotropic weekend in the woods, YACHT’s loopy mantras and wide-eyed sincerity might have been a deal breaker if See Mystery Lights wasn’t so much fun to listen to.
