Sierra Kusterbeck is the lead singer for Florida-based pop rock trio VersaEmerge, whose debut LP, Fixed at Zero (Fueled By Ramen), was released this summer while the band was on Warped Tour. Leave any preconceptions you may have about Fueled By Ramen and Warped Tour artists at the door—VersaEmerge creates catchy, slick power pop and have a powerful vocalist in Kusterbeck. Here, Sierra reflects on the whirlwind tour.
Hi all!
So the Vultures Unite tour has come to a bittersweet end and I can't even put into words the experience I took home with me. Still being fairly young in such a crazy world, I'm like a sponge soaking up everything I see, hear, and go through. So out on our first headliner, I seeped in some of the best feelings I've ever felt. So much support and love from our Vultures (fans). Every day was another surprise, from the amount of people lined up at 12 p.m. to the SOLD OUT shows, to the pure fun energy from the crowd!
Every night was a different kind of magic, and there was always such a glow and vim throughout the venue. No matter what shitty drives we had to do every night or how sick we Floridians got in the cold weather, we enjoyed ourselves each and every day.
The other bands who came out with us—Anarbor, the Dangerous Summer, and Conditions—were the best tour companions. We grew so close and on the road, and though family and friends is something that seems far away, on tour we made a great temporary family.
We'll be back out with Conditions in the future, so I’m looking forward to that. To the people who came out to a show, I thank you forever for making our first headliner such a success! I will never forget it. We’re more then ready to get back out and tour our asses off wherever we possibly can. We want to get to every country—and maybe even the moon some day!
