A Goldsmith College student shows how to layer up in London

Considering the weather is gradually getting colder as days go by, it is not the time of the year when we can apply “Less is More” in our choice of fashion attire. Instead, this is the perfect time for us to wear some more and warm ourselves in layers of clothing!

To be honest, it was the Fashionista’s striking burgundy purple hair that first caught my eye when I saw her walking towards the library. Then as I glare on her outfit I was struck again by the whole paradigm of layers, colours, materials, and winter pieces. Oh, I couldn’t help but love it!

First of all, let’s look at the layers section. Cardigan? Checked. Sweater? Got it. Coat? Obviously. The different colours of each piece brought the whole outfit to life: navy blue, gray, red, light brown, black and beige, it’s all there! This Fashionista also did a really good job mixing the different materials. Who would’ve thought that a cotton sweater would look great between a knitted cardigan and a fur coat? She’s more than ready to face the chill wind of winter.

Secondly, I just couldn’t ignore the red knitted scarves and ear mufflers. With the snowflakes pattern, she evoked the holiday spirit although it is still four weeks away! Nevertheless, it’s always great to get ready in advance, right? Moreover, wearing ear mufflers is a great alternative to hats and not to mention less concern about the changing “post-hat” hairstyle. Finally, the black tights paired up with beige flats terrifically finished up the look and this Fashionista rocked this style simply by mixing the basic attires.

Hint: Fashion is all about mixing every piece to create a unique, stylish look. Therefore, don’t be afraid to mix it all up regardless the material and colour differences. Who knows, it might look uber-cool. Also, don’t forget to always be confident with what you’re wearing!
