My hair, much like the leaves on trees, changes with the seasons. Sometimes lush and full of life, it can fall victim to warmer air, either turning limp and brittle or becoming a thick and sticky rainforest of frizz. After experimenting with different styling products and methods, I've settled on this routine for summer. It helps me maintain my look no matter what's going on outside:

STEP ONE: Pureology Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner
Why I love it: The vegan formulas create a rich and soothing lather that is superior to other products I’ve tried. Since I’ve started using Pureology, my color is noticeably more dimensional, the texture more lively, and my hair is just healthier all around.
How I use it: . Lather, rinse, and sometimes repeat, depending on my mood; conditioner on the ends for a few minutes in the shower; then rinse again.
What to watch for: Personally, not a fan of the smell (I know others who vehemently disagree), and for me that’s usually a deal breaker. However, Pureology's performance outweighs its fragrance, and in the long-hair run, that's what really matters.

STEP TWO: Bumble and Bumble Tonic Lotion
Why I love it: The tingling sensation proves that the product is doing its jobs—adding control while heightening the effects of other products.
How I use it: After a quick towel dry, I spray a generous amount all over my hair and take a moment to massage it into my scalp to get the full, refreshing effect.
What to watch for: I have no complaints about this pricey item except that it is indeed pricey. Because I love it so much, the bottle doesn’t stay full for very long—but it's still worth it.

STEP THREE: It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner
Why I love it: The bottle doesn’t lie. The thick formula lives up to its promises: it detangles, adds shine, and protects.
How I use it: Because it is a spray, I am able to modify the leave-in method. If my hair is going through a rebellious stage, I do five or six pumps all over, then comb from root to tip. If my hair seems calm and collected, a couple pumps on the ends and I'm good to go.
What to watch for: Sometimes less is more. I recommend those with naturally oily hair even cut out regular conditioner at first. Once you understand how your hair reacts to the "miracle," spray accordingly.
