Sarah Collins loves True Blood

Vampire shows have been a little maligned since Twilight hit the theaters and ruined the reputations of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans everywhere. But I will proudly declare my love for True Blood.

The show is everything an HBO original series should be -- oversexed and incredibly strange. There's all sorts of supernatural characters on the show, but it's never about the supernatural. The show is about real people being messed up and confused and trying to navigate their way through life. It's human drama at its most honest, full of flawed characters and truly evil creatures. The fact that there are vampires and shape-shifters is just a plus.
