Julia Korol loves Sweet Cakes bakery

Tucked away in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood of Chicago is something sweet.

Sweet Cakes offers up all the usual tasty treats: cookies, scones, mini-cupcakes in mouthwatering varieties like pink lemonade and mint chocolate chip. But the real draw here is The Egg -- a cornbread muffin with an entire hardboiled egg baked inside its squishy center. You probably won't know what to make of it at first, but trust me, a few bites in and you're guaranteed to fall in love.

And for those with vegan appetites, many of Sweet Cakes' sweet cakes are even vegan friendly.
