I can't get Mad Men out of my head. More to the point, I can't get Don Draper, the lead character, out of my head. Ah, for a man who knows what he wants, and wears a hat…
This show is set in the advertising world of the early 60s in Manhattan, where everyone smokes a pack a day and takes long martini lunches with people who are not their spouses. The men are commandeering, the women really don't question their "place," and everyone's a little bit racist. However, all the female characters are fascinating, complicated, (pretty sexy) and honestly relatable. Put Mad Men at the top of your Netflix queue, or check out the DVD box that's very stealthily packaged like a Zippo lighter. You won't regret it!
