Laff

Venus Zine at the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival!

Follow it as it happens, now through June 27.

For next 10 days, I get to live and breathe popcorn and candy while sitting in dark rooms with strangers. I’m more than excited about covering this year’s Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF) and you get to join me here on VenusZine.com. Each day, I'll give you the play-by-play of what’s really going on at the festival as it happens, as well as exclusive reviews of much-awaited films (before they're released in theaters). The LAFF, now in its 16th year, showcases over 200 feature films, shorts, and music videos along with panels with your favorite actors, producers, and writers.

There's also tons of live music, including performances from L.A. singer-songwriters at ZonePerfect's live.create lounge. It’s already too much for me to handle—and the festival is just getting started!

Join me as I check out the new Michael Meyer-produced Camera Camera, Circo, the true story of a family-run traveling circus, the SXSW gem Tiny Furniture, and the much-discussed Waiting for "Superman", the poignant documentary exploring America’s failing school system.

And that’s not all. I’ll also recount exactly what goes down during the Conversation with Ben Affleck (moderated by Jeremy Renner and the live reunion of the legendary band Fishbone— and post an interview with Philip G. Flores, the young director of The Wheeler Boys and winner of Nextflix’s and Film Independent’s Find Your Voice film competition.

Stay tuned and check back every day to get the inside scoop!
